Lorenzo Guggenheim is an emerging conductor from Buenos Aires now based in Canada. He is the Music Director of the Oakville Symphony and the founder of the University of Toronto Campus Philharmonic Orchestra. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at UofT researching the music of banned and persecuted composer Franz Schreker.

Lorenzo Guggenheim, an emerging conductor from Buenos Aires now based in Canada, is the Music Director of the Oakville Symphony and founder of the University of Toronto Campus Philharmonic Orchestra. He participated in international masterclasses, recently with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre Symphonique de Quebec. Guggenheim was selected for the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra 2023 Conducting Showcase and was a fellow for Ludovic Morlot at the Seattle Symphony during his Master’s.
Known for innovative programming and promoting underrepresented composers, he conducted the first hearing of Florence Price’s Symphony No. 1 in Toronto. Guggenheim is pursuing a doctoral degree at UofT researching the music of Franz Schreker, banned and persecuted composer.
Lorenzo Guggenheim, chef d’orchestre émergent originaire de Buenos Aires et vivant maintenant au Canada, est directeur musical de l’Orchestre symphonique d’Oakville et fondateur du Campus Philharmonic Orchestra de l’Université de Toronto. Il a participé à des classes de maître à l’international, notamment, récemment, avec l’Orchestre symphonique de Jérusalem et l’Orchestre symphonique de Québec. Guggenheim a été sélectionné au Conducting Showcase de l’Orchestre symphonique de Winnipeg en 2023 et a été l’étudiant de Ludovic Morlot de l’Orchestre symphonique de Seattle au cours de sa maîtrise.
Reconnu pour sa programmation novatrice, qui donne une place de choix aux compositrices et compositeurs sous-représentés – il a notamment dirigé en première à Toronto la Symphonie n˚ 1 de Florence Price, Guggenheim est étudiant au doctorat à l’Université de Toronto où il s’intéresse à la musique de Franz Schreker, compositeur banni et persécuté.
