Evelyne Méthot hails from Montréal where she studied the cello with former NACO player Carole Sirois at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. As a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada in 2019, she toured and performed in Canada and Spain under the baton of Michael Francis. This was Evelyne’s second year in the NACO Mentorship Program.

At the age of 16, Evelyne Méthot began her studies at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal (CMM) with Carole Sirois, and completed her bachelor’s degree in April 2022. Through several training internships, she obtained valuable advice from cellists Lluis Claret, Amit Peled, Brian Manker, David Hetherington, Joseph Johnson, Elizabeth Dolin, Denis Brott and Stéphane Tétreault.
In June 2019, Evelyne participated in the National Youth Orchestra of Canada’s summer program. During the orchestra’s Odyssey Tour, she performed in nine concerts in Canada and Spain under the direction of conductor Michael Francis.
In November 2021, the young cellist performed as First Chair of the cello section of the Orchestre symphonique du CMM for a concert at the Maison symphonique.
C’est à l’âge de 16 ans qu’Evelyne Méthot entame ses études au Conservatoire de musique de Montréal (CMM) dans la classe de Carole Sirois, où elle termine son baccalauréat en avril 2022. À travers plusieurs stages de perfectionnement, elle obtient les précieux conseils de la part des violoncellistes Lluis Claret, Amit Peled, Brian Manker, David Hetherington, Joseph Johnson, Elizabeth Dolin, Denis Brott et Stéphane Tétreault.
En juin 2019, Evelyne participe au programme d’été de l’Orchestre national des jeunes du Canada. Dans le cadre de la tournée Odyssée de cet ensemble, elle se produit lors de neuf concerts au Canada et en Espagne sous la direction du chef Michael Francis.
En novembre 2021, la jeune violoncelliste occupe la première chaise de la section de violoncelle de l’Orchestre symphonique du CMM lors d’un concert à la Maison symphonique.
