The Transformations Project

TRANSFORMATIONS: What Would it Take?

By Charlotte Qamaniq / Volcano

“I asked my two children what they think it would take to transform our society for the betterment of all. This is our response.” Charlotte Qamaniq is a mother, an Inuit throat singer with the twice Juno nominated band Silla and Rise, an actress, and an Inuit cultural awareness presenter. Nathan (14) and Eliza (11, also the animator) are Inuit, Tsimshian, and Nisga’a. Charlotte says of her children: “They are wise and intuitive souls who love their land, culture, and peers.”

We give thanks to the Algonquin Nation for allowing us to live, work, and thrive on their land, we acknowledge that we are on traditional unseeded Algonquin territory.
