NACO Lunch Break: Debussy's Syrinx

Joanna G'froerer

In today's NACO Lunch Break, Joanna G'froerer, NACO's Principal Flutist, shares Claude Debussy's Syrinx, composed in 1913. It holds a special place in the repertoire for flute as it was the first piece written for solo flute since the invention of the modern flute. Syrinx is also unique for being traditionally being performed off-stage. Enjoy!
