Dancing the Land

The Gift of the Mistatim

Rosa John, Kehewin Native Dance Theatre

The spirit of the Mistatim (Horse) feeds the hearts of a dancer and young girl. The dancer learns that the swiftness of his Fancy Dance and intricacy of his Hoop Dance come from a gift that was given to his people a long time ago, while a young girl discovers the bond and love she carries for her horse.
