  DAVID DONNELLY

  David Donnelly is an award-winning American filmmaker, speaker, writer, poet, entrepreneur, and artist. He has written, directed, and produced music videos, video installation art, short films, and feature-length documentaries. He has worked with NY times best-selling authors, Grammy winners, Pulitzer Prize winners, and Hollywood A-list talent. His work has been featured in countless publications including Forbes, Playbill, and NPR. Donnelly’s educational films are utilized in thousands of classrooms across North America. In February of 2018 he directed Live from Lincoln Center-Chinese New Year: Year of the Dog starring the New York Philharmonic, which was broadcast to millions of Chinese viewers.  In late 2015, Donnelly released his first feature-length documentary, Maestro, starring Paavo Jarvi, Joshua Bell, Hilary Hahn, and Lang Lang. Since then, Maestro has been translated into a dozen languages and is airing on networks spanning five continents. Most importantly it is utilized as a much-needed resource for music educators.

  Donnelly is the author of the viral Huffington Post essay “Why Failing Orchestras are the Problem of Every American.” and is the executive producer of the award-winning documentary Gabe. In 2018, Donnelly released the three-part web series "Of the Americas" documenting the Orchestra of the America's tour across South America. He is the director of Forte and Nordic Pulse, feature length documentaries slated for an early 2019 release. Donnelly has successfully launched three Kickstarter campaigns to help finance his independently produced films.

  Donnelly’s work has appeared in some of America’s most cherished cultural institutions including the Whitney Museum, Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, Curtis Institute of Music, and various embassies. He is the creator of the visionary hybrid film/concert program Not So Classical and is the founder of Culture Monster, a production company dedicated to making arts organizations more competitive in the free market economy through the utilization of narrative driven digital content.  Donnelly will launch his next venture, The American Culture Network, in 2019.

  Since 2015 Anastasia Boudanoque has been managing Primavera Consulting LLC, a firm she founded with a focus on producing high-end classical entertainment events and consulting performing arts organizations all over the world.Additionally, Primavera represents a small roster of artists, reinforcing traditional talent management with digital and social media, endorsement opportunities, as well as educational, charitable, and cultural diplomacy initiatives.

  Ms. Boudanoque has been involved in the careers of some of the most compelling performers of our time including Lang Lang, Ray Chen, Mischa Maisky, Long Yu, Olga Peretyatko, Julian Rachlin, Daniel Harding, Maxim Vengerov, Robert Trevino, Tan Dun, and Rudolf Buchbinder. As a producer, under the auspices of Columbia Artists (CAMI Music), Ms. Boudanoque organized the 2010 Asian Games Festival in Guangzhou, bringing together Yo-Yo Ma, Midori, Sarah Chang, Myung-Whun Chung and the Seoul Philharmonic for an unprecedented musical summit. Her producing credits also include the historic performances of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra in Manhattan's Central Park, celebrating the World Expo 2010, and at the UN General Assembly in 2015, commemorating the 70th anniversary of Allied Powers’ victory over nazism. She has produced five Chinese New Year Gala concerts at Lincoln Center with the New York Philharmonic and brought the Moscow Sretensky Monastery Choir to Beijing for a rare concert of sacred music at the Forbidden City. Ms. Boudanoque has arranged for some these events to be broadcast internationally, increasing their audience to hundreds of thousands.

  Ms. Boudanoque is currently producing her second documentary. Forte profiles three women who are challenging classical music industry norms by setting their own definition and criteria for success in a genre steeped in tradition. Filmed in eleven international locations, Forte is in post-production and is anticipating an early 2019 release.

  Ms. Boudanoque served on the board of the Shanghai Orchestra Academy, which she helped establish as a partnership between the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Shanghai Conservatory. In 2008, she spearheaded the creation and launch of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation.

  Prior to her tenure at Columbia Artists, Ms. Boudanoque ran the comprehensive arts program of the British Council in St. Petersburg and collaborated with IMG Artists as an independent producer. She graduated with honors from the St. Petersburg State University where she earned a Specialist degree in International Relations and Cultural Diplomacy

Forte dresse le portrait de trois femmes qui remettent en question les normes de l’industrie de la musique classique en établissant leurs propres définitions et critères de réussite dans un genre imprégné de tradition. Filmé dans onze lieux internationaux, Forte est en postproduction et devrait paraître au début de 2019.

  Mme Boudanoque a siégé au conseil d’administration de Shanghai Orchestra Academy, un partenariat qu’elle a contribué à établir entre l’Orchestre symphonique de Shanghai, l’Orchestre philharmonique de New York et le Conservatoire de Shanghai. En 2008, elle a été le fer de lance de la création et du lancement de la Fondation internationale de musique Lang Lang.

  Avant de travailler chez Columbia Artists, Mme Boudanoque a dirigé le programme artistique complet du British Council à Saint-Pétersbourg et a collaboré avec IMG Artists en tant que productrice indépendante. Elle est diplômée avec mention de l’Université d’État de Saint-Pétersbourg, où elle a obtenu un diplôme de spécialiste en relations internationales et en diplomatie culturelle.

  LUCÍA CARUSO

  Lucía Caruso is an Argentinean composer and pianist based in New York City, whose numerous awards include the 2015 and 2016 ASCAP Plus Award and two composition residencies: with the Sorel Foundation and composer in residence of Orchestra of the Swan in Stratford-upon-Avon, U.K.

  Caruso is the Artistic Director of the Manhattan Camerata, an innovative chamber orchestra, which she co-founded with Pedro H. da Silva. This is the first ensemble to perform Transclassical music, a term created by Lucia to define their unique style of composition, characterized by its grounded classical technique that incorporates improvisation and elements from a variety of cultures and world instruments in a range of styles and genres. The Manhattan Camerata most recently won Best Instrumental Performance at the prestigious 2017 International Portuguese Music Awards.

  Her musical career has taken her across four continents and over a dozen countries. She has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world including the Versailles Palace; the Louvre Museum; and Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, France; Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Vanderbilt Hall at the Grand Central Station in New York City; Kennedy Center in Washington DC; and the Kew Royal Palace in London.

  Caruso also performed her works for piano and orchestra as a soloist with the Orchestre Lamoureux in Paris and the London Metropolitan Orchestra in the UK. Several of Caruso’s chamber and orchestral compositions were recorded in London at Abbey Road Studios by the London Metropolitan Orchestra.

  She was commissioned a ballet by the José Limón Dance Company. In April 2016 she premiered her composition Titania’s Lullaby for orchestra and choir for Shakespeare 400 Memorial at his church, the Holy Trinity Church of Stratford-upon-Avon, UK.

  Caruso is scheduled to record her new piano concerto “Light and Wind” with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields at the Abbey Road Studios in London in July 2019.

  Caruso received her bachelor’s degree in classical piano from the Manhattan School of Music, and her Master's Degree in Composition and Film-Scoring from New York University with renowned film composer Ira Newborn (Naked Gun, Ace Ventura, Ferris Bueller's Day Off).

  Tatiana Berman is a Russian-American violinist, artist, and producer.

  Tatiana's mission is to create new ways of connecting classical music with a broader audience. She is the star of Forte documentary which tells the story of three women creating their own definition of success. Tatiana is the original star and co-creator of the groundbreaking performance concept Not So Classical which has been praised by Forbes, NPR and Playbill for its innovative approach in presenting a classical music concert experience.

  In 2020 Tatiana’s appearances include interactive and educational opportunities such as performances, Q & A, movie screenings and workshops. Appearance locations include The Kennedy Center, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Santa Fe Symphony, Lafon Performing Arts center. Tatiana is revolutionizing arts education through virtual performances in the classroom. She is releasing her long-anticipated debut album and continuing to make history with the premiere of the first-ever Violin Concerto composed by artificial intelligence.

  Tatiana is the founder and artistic director of Constella Arts which brings music to schools where arts funding has been cut. In partnership with Constella Arts and Culture Monster, she produces a variety of content which connects classical music with a broader audience. Her video Vitali Variations is featured in Huffington Post and broadcast in over 26 countries.

  Tatiana studied violin at the St. Petersburg Specialized Music School and then at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal College of Music in London, earning full scholarships, and international awards along the way. Throughout her international career as a concert violinist, Tatiana has collaborated with renowned musicians, including Joshua Bell, Ksenia Bashmet, Jeremy Denk, Bryce Dessner, Ivry Gitlis, Steven Isserlis, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Anthony McGill, Nico Muhly, Simon Trpceski and Ted Nash. As a soloist, she has worked with conductors Paavo Jarvi, Sarah Ioannides, and the late Yehudi Menuhin, appearing with both European and U.S. orchestras. London’s The Strad described Tatiana as “a violinist with a mature, compelling musical personality.” Tatiana is an ardent performer of new music, commissioning and collaborating on artistic projects with dancers and digital artists. Notable performances include world premieres of Violin Concertos by Charles Coleman and Michael Csányi-Wills. In 2012, Tatiana was named Arts Ambassador for the City of Cincinnati, Ohio and became a Ted Talk speaker.

  Eldbjørg Hemsing

  A champion of Norway’s rich musical tradition, Eldbjørg Hemsing has been a household name in her native country since childhood and made her solo debut with the Bergen Philharmonic at the age of 11. After winning various international competitions and prizes at the age of 18, she received a flood of invitations to perform but decided instead to travel to Vienna for further intensive studies with Boris Kuschnir, during which time she fine-tuned her performance-style and absorbed a wide-range of repertoire ranging from Bach, Beethoven, Bartok to Tan Dun. Together with Tan Dun she has collaborated on numerous projects in both Europe and Asia and has most recently premiered composer’s new violin concerto “Fire Ritual – A Musical Ritual for Victims of Wars”, together with the Oslo Philharmonic.

  In March 2018 Eldbjørg Hemsing released her debut CD on the Swedish label, BIS, featuring violin concertos by Hjalmar Borgström and Dmitri Shostakovich, recorded with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and Olari Elts.

  Introducing the album Eldbjørg wrote:”A few years ago, I was introduced to the music of Hjalmar Borgström, a name I was not previously familiar with and I was surprised to learn that he had been famous as both a composer and critic in Norway at the beginning of the 20th century. Opening the score of his first violin concerto for the first time I was immediately intrigued. This concerto, written in 1914, is incredibly beautiful, full of Norwegian Nationalist sentiment so typical of its time but also worthy of international attention. It reminds me of where I come from – the rugged landscape of Valdres and Jotunheimen, where the surrounding mountains rise dramatically over the valleys – and the music makes me yearn for my roots. After Borgström’s death in 1925 the concerto was completely forgotten and so today I am on something of a mission to help do my part in bringing this composer’s music back to life.”

  Her debut album will be followed in September 2018 by a recording of Dvořák’s Violin Concerto and Suk’s Fantasy and Love Song with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and Alan Buribayev. She is also the subject of the upcoming documentary “Forte” directed by David Donnelly, focusing on women in the arts. This new venture follows the award winning success of the 2010 NRK film in which Eldbjørg and her sister Ranghild explored the life of Norway’s legendary violinist, Olle Bull.

  Her upcoming engagements in the 2018 / 19 season include her début with the China National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Filharmónica Portuguesa and Orchestra de Valéncia, as well as her re-engagements with amongs others Oslo Philharmonic, Shenzhen Philharmonic Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Szczecin Philharmonic to only name a few. Eldbjørg Hemsing is also making her recital début at the Lincoln Center in New York, Abu Dhabi Classics, recital tour in Europe and Asia with Macedonian pianist Simon Trpčeski and Julien Quentin. As part of her 2018 Artist in Residency at the Stormen Concert Hall in Bødo (Norway), she is returning for a series recitals and performances with the Arctic Philharmonic. Official biography.   In addition to a busy performance schedule, Eldbjørg Hemsing is actively involved in societal projects close to her values. In response to the outbreak of the refugee crisis, she became an ambassador for the German music education project CJD Panorama, a music program aimed at assisting children from minority backgrounds in society integration. In January 2018 Eldbjørg Hemsing appeared as a speaker at the launch of W20 – Women in Global Heath in Berlin, emphasizing the role of music in public health. She has also been a keynote speaker at the Abu Dhabi Culture Summit 2018 and Arts & Audience 2017´s “Young Audiences” conference.

Il me rappelle d’où je viens - le paysage accidenté de Valdres et de Jotunheimen, où les montagnes environnantes s’élèvent de façon spectaculaire au-dessus des vallées - et la musique me fait aspirer à mes racines. Après la mort de Borgström en 1925, le concerto a été complètement oublié et aujourd’hui, je suis en quelque sorte en mission pour redonner vie à la musique de ce compositeur ».

  Son premier album sera suivi en septembre 2018 par un enregistrement du Concerto pour violon de Dvořák et de la Fantaisie et chanson d’amour de Suk avec l’Orchestre symphonique d’Anvers et Alan Buribayev. Elle est également le sujet du documentaire Forte réalisé par David Donnelly, qui se concentre sur les femmes dans les arts. Cette nouvelle aventure fait suite au succès du film primé NRK 2010, dans lequel Eldbjørg et sa sœur Ranghild explorent la vie du légendaire violoniste norvégien, Olle Bull.

  Ses prochains engagements pour la saison 2018-2019 comprennent ses débuts avec l’Orchestre symphonique national de Chine, l’Orchestra Filharmónica Portuguesa et l’Orchestra de Valéncia, ainsi que de nouveaux projets avec entre autres l’Orchestre philharmonique d’Oslo, l’Orchestre philharmonique de Shenzhen, l’Orchestre symphonique de Trondheim et l’Orchestre philharmonique de Szczecin, pour n’en citer que quelques-uns. Eldbjørg Hemsing fait également ses débuts en récital au Lincoln Center de New York, Abu Dhabi Classics, et effectue une tournée de récitals en Europe et en Asie avec le pianiste macédonien Simon Trpčeski et Julien Quentin. Dans le cadre de sa résidence d’artiste en 2018 au Stormen Concert Hall de Bødo (Norvège), elle revient pour une série de récitals et de prestations avec l’Orchestre philharmonique de l’Arctique.

  En plus de son emploi du temps chargé, Eldbjørg Hemsing participe activement à des projets de société proches de ses valeurs. En réponse à la crise des réfugiés, elle est devenue ambassadrice du projet allemand d’éducation musicale CJD Panorama, un programme musical visant à aider les enfants issus de minorités à s’intégrer dans la société. En janvier 2018, Eldbjørg Hemsing est intervenue lors du lancement de W20 - Women in Global Heath à Berlin, soulignant le rôle de la musique dans la santé publique. Elle a également été l’une des principales conférencières du Sommet de la culture d’Abu Dhabi 2018 et de la conférence Young Audiences de Arts & Audience 2017.

  Eldbjørg Hemsing joue sur un violon G. B. Guadagnini de 1754, gracieusement prêté par la Fondation Dextra Musica.

  Arna Kristín Einarsdóttir has been at the forefront of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra since 2007. She first served as the orchestra’s concerts director, and in 2013 was appointed as managing director. In that role, she has been responsible for the organization meeting its overall artistic and financial goals and objectives. The Iceland Symphony Orchestra is the national symphony orchestra of Iceland and the only professional orchestra in the country. It employs more than 110 individuals and performs more than 100 concerts and activities per season. In 2011, the orchestra moved into a new concert hall, Harpa, which has become one of Reykjavík’s landmarks and has more than two million visitors a year. Before moving into management, Arna played second flute with the orchestra from 2000–2004 and had a successful career as a flutist, both in Iceland as well as in England. Arna holds a master’s degree in Cultural Management from Bifröst University in Iceland; a Soloist Performance Exam from Reykjavík Music College in Iceland; a Postgraduate Diploma from Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England; and a Professional Performance degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Arna has three children aged 26, 14 and nine and is married to graphic designer Hilmar Þorsteinn Hilmarsson.

  Arna Kristín Einarsdóttir joue un rôle central à l’Orchestre symphonique d’Islande (ISO) depuis 2007. D’abord embauchée comme gestionnaire des concerts, elle a été nommée directrice administrative de l’ISO en 2013. À ce titre, elle était responsable de l’atteinte des objectifs artistiques et financiers de l’ensemble. L’ISO est l’orchestre symphonique national de l’Islande et le seul orchestre professionnel du pays. Il emploie plus de 110 personnes et présente une centaine de concerts et d’activités chaque saison. En 2011, l’ensemble a emménagé dans une nouvelle salle de concert, l’Harpa, qui est aujourd’hui un point d’intérêt de Reykjavík et accueille plus de deux millions de visiteurs chaque année. Avant d’être gestionnaire, M^me Einarsdóttir a été seconde flûte au sein de l’ISO de 2000 à 2004 et a mené une fructueuse carrière de flûtiste en Islande et en Angleterre. Elle détient une maîtrise en administration culturelle de l’Université de Bifröst (Islande), un diplôme d’études supérieures du Royal Northern College of Music de Manchester (R.-U.) et un diplôme en interprétation de l’Université de l’Indiana à Bloomington (Indiana), en plus d’avoir réussi son examen de soliste au Collège de musique de Reykjavík (Islande). Elle a trois enfants de 26, 14 et 9 ans, et est mariée au concepteur graphique Hilmar Þorsteinn Hilmarsson.

  Alexander Shelley succeeded Pinchas Zukerman as Music Director of Canada’s NAC Orchestra in September 2015. The ensemble has since been praised as being “transformed... hungry, bold, and unleashed” (Ottawa Citizen) and Shelley’s programming credited for turning the orchestra into “one of the more audacious in North America” (Maclean’s). 

  Shelley is a champion of Canadian creation; recent hallmarks include the multimedia projects Life Reflected and UNDISRUPTED,and three major new ballets in partnership with NAC Dance for Encount3rs. He is passionate about arts education and nurturing the next generation of musicians. He is an Ambassador for Ottawa’s OrKidstra, a charitable social development program that teaches children life skills through making music together. 

  Alexander Shelley is also the Principal Associate Conductor of London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and, starting with the 2024–2025 season, Artistic and Music Director of Artis-Naples and the Naples Philharmonic in Florida, USA. In the spring of 2019, he led the NAC Orchestra on its critically acclaimed 50th Anniversary European tour, and in 2017, he led the Orchestra in a tour across Canada, celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary. Most recently, he led the Orchestra in its first performance at New York’s Carnegie Hall in 30 years.

  He has made eight recordings with the NAC Orchestra, including the JUNO-nominated New Worlds, Life Reflected, ENCOUNT3RS, The Bounds of Our Dreams, and the acclaimed Clara, Robert, Johannes four-album series, all with Canadian label Analekta.

  Alexander Shelley a reçu le titre de directeur musical de l’Orchestre du CNA en septembre 2015.   Shelley s’attache à cultiver les talents de la relève : il est notamment un ambassadeur d’OrKidstra, un programme de développement social qui, à travers la musique, aide les jeunes d’Ottawa à acquérir des compétences essentielles.

  Alexander Shelley est également premier chef d’orchestre associé du Royal Philharmonic Orchestra de Londres, et, à partir de la saison 2024-2025, directeur artistique et musical d’Artis-Naples et de l’Orchestre philharmonique de Naples en Floride (États-Unis). Il a dirigé l’Orchestre du CNA au printemps 2019 à l’occasion d’une tournée européenne très applaudie soulignant le 50^e anniversaire de l’ensemble et, en 2017, dans le cadre d’une tournée aux quatre coins du Canada pour célébrer le 150^e anniversaire du pays. Plus récemment, l’Orchestre a donné, sous sa baguette, son premier concert en 30 ans au Carnegie Hall de New York.

  Shelley a fait paraître huit enregistrements avec l’Orchestre du CNA, dont Nouveaux Mondes (finaliste aux prix JUNO), Réflexions sur la vie, RENCONTR3S, Aux frontières de nos rêves, ainsi que la série louangée par la critique de quatre albums Clara, Robert, Johannes, tous parus sous l'étiquette canadienne Analekta.
