Named for Les sœurs Boulay’s most recent album, the concert Échapper à la nuit marks the sisters’ return to the stage of after a three-year hiatus. To transmit the album’s originality to the stage, they called on Connor Seidel, also the album's producer, to come up with arrangements that would respect the duo's new, slightly more electro sound. Les sœurs Boulay make the kind of music you listen to in private, but also, crucially, the kind you can enjoy as a group in a shared and unique experience at each show. Since their very beginnings, they’ve crafted a strong stage presence through highly immersive, interactive, even playful performances. Échapper à la nuit is directed by director, actor and programmer Myriam Sophie Deslauriers. The two sisters will be on the move, with or without their guitars and pianos, with Marc-André Larocque on drums, Camille Gélinas on keyboards and programming, and Charles Blondeau on string instruments. Their wide-ranging repertoire, from familiar hits to their latest songs, will be infused with their new sound.

Over the past ten years, Les sœurs Boulay have pinned more than a few tacks on the map of Quebec, and also on those of Canada and Europe (France, Switzerland). Their three career albums, Le poids des confettis (platinum record), 4488 de l’Amour (gold record) and La mort des étoiles, as well as their EP Lendemains, have resulted in over 400 performances in festivals and concert venues. It all started at the Francouvertes, a competition for emerging artists in Montreal, which they unexpectedly won on a festive evening in 2012. Since then, they’ve been prominent at the ADISQ ceremony, taking home a total of five Félix awards: Revelation of the Year and Folk Album of the Year in 2013; Group of the Year in 2014; Folk Album of the Year in 2016; and Group of the Year in 2017. They’ve also received several GAMIQ awards, been shortlisted for the Félix-Leclerc and SOCAN awards, made it onto the longlist for the Polaris Prize, and been singled out by Les Entrées en scène Loto-Québec and Révélations Radio-Canada.
